WSD 2011: HERE COME THE GIRLS

World Squash Day 2011 is dedicated to women. Young or old, any shape or size. We want women the world over to visit their local squash club or sports centre and try their hand at squash or racketball.

Clubs all over the world will be opening their courts to welcome a new generation of female players on 5th November.

FUN AND FITNESS

Squash and racketball are very sociable sports. You can play singles, doubles or meet up for a fun round-robin. You can pair up with a racket-buddy and improve your fitness very quickly with squash training

Why squash is great:
  • Squash is fast, fun and fantastic for fitness.
  • Squash is played indoors, so you can play any time of day, all year round.
  • Squash is rated the best sport in the world for fitness - Forbes Magazine concluded that squash was the world’s healthiest sport after a survey in 2007 and another recent survey showed that squash burns off more calories than any other indoor sport.
  • Squash fashion: Great colours, easy to move in
  • Squash is great for young people today who want to get fit in the shortest possible time. At the elite level, squash is extremely athletic and exciting to watch.
  • Squash is played in 175 countries by more than 20 million people. There must be a club or court near you!
  • It is easy to get started and the cost of equipment is low.

Make it easy. Join with a group of friends and start your own ladies’ group.

Get some coaching. You will improve much quicker.

SAVE MONEY! Squash club memberships are usually cheaper than the big fitness chains.

SCHOOLS GROUPS

All clubs and federations will be encouraged to form links with local schools to attract a new generation of players.
